FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE · October 29, 2026

SIFT CLIPS 1.0.14 GIVES AI ASSISTANTS AN EDITOR’S EYE, AND LEAVES THE CUT TO THE EDITOR.

With Sift Clips 1.0.14, an editor’s own Claude or ChatGPT can find the right footage, check how each shot moves and sounds, organize Selects, read the timeline in Premiere or Resolve, and line up b-roll on a new timeline. Clients can search footage an editor shares with their own assistant too.

Sift Clips 1.0.14 (October 29, 2026) connects AI assistants to video footage without handing them the edit. Editors connect Sift to Claude or ChatGPT in one click; the assistant can search the whole library by what’s on screen, what’s said and who’s in it, measure camera movement, focus, exposure and sound, work in Selects with undo, read the open Premiere or Resolve timeline, and build b-roll on a new timeline. Sending, exporting and sharing wait for the editor’s Allow, and the editor’s sequence is never changed. People an editor shares footage with can connect the Sift Clips connector to search it with their own assistant: small copies only, never originals. Sift Clips runs on Mac and Windows; the Windows installer is code-signed.

Not an AI editor.
-----------------
Some tools promise to cut the whole video for you. Sift Clips 1.0.14 does the opposite. It does the
searching, checking and lining up that eats an editor’s day, and hands back the best options. The editor still makes every
creative decision. An assistant connected to Sift never changes the editor’s sequence: anything it builds arrives as a new
timeline the editor can use or ignore.

What an assistant can do with Sift.
-----------------------------------
- See the library. Every synced folder and Frame.io project, the people the editor has named, and each clip’s facts: frame rate, resolution, start timecode, codec, speech and who appears.
- Find. Search by what’s on screen, what’s said or who’s in it, inside chosen folders, with filters an editor would use: length, 4K or HD, frame rate, vertical, shot date, real footage only, and leaving out shots already in Selects. Shot-type tags include aerial, animated, graphics and slow-motion capable. Every search says what couldn’t be searched and why.
- Check like an editor. A shot check measured on the editor’s computer: whether the camera is locked off, smooth, handheld or shaky, where focus lands, exposure, sound level, clipping and wind, and where the real cuts fall. Up to 30 clips at a time, plus single frames and contact sheets.
- Organize. Add, remove, trim, reorder, rename and note clips in Selects, and name people. Every change is listed in Sift and can be undone.
- Work from the timeline. With the free Sift Clips panel in Adobe Premiere or the Sift script in DaVinci Resolve, the assistant can read the open sequence, find more shots like the one under the playhead, fill a gap, put client notes on the timeline, and line up b-roll over an interview on a new timeline that stacks above the editor’s.
- Deliver, after the editor allows it. Send to Premiere, Resolve or Final Cut Pro, export, gather files or share a link. Each one is prepared first and runs only after the editor clicks Allow in Sift, and Sift reports whether a send actually landed.
- Follow house rules. Editors set how they like things (naming, their editing app, folders, picks like “4K only” or “no shaky shots”) once, and every assistant follows them.

For the people editors share with.
----------------------------------
Editors already share footage with clients, producers and marketing teams through Sift’s Link sharing.
In 1.0.14 the editor can also let those people search a shared link with their own Claude or ChatGPT. They choose
Use with your AI on the link’s page and connect the Sift Clips connector once; every link shared with them later is
included. Their assistant sees small copies and transcripts, never the original files, follows the usage terms the editor
set, and can send picks back as Selects or ask for originals, which the editor decides on. The editor sees who connected
and everything their assistants searched, and can remove them at any time. It’s off unless the editor turns it on.

Built to be safe.
-----------------
- Search runs on the editor’s computer. Footage isn’t uploaded for the assistant; it gets results, transcripts, thumbnails and frames it asks for.
- Nothing leaves the computer or drives another app without the editor’s Allow.
- The editor’s sequence is never edited, and every change in Sift can be undone.
- File names, notes and transcripts are passed to the assistant as data, never as instructions.
- Shared footage: small copies only, daily limits, and access ends when the editor removes someone, changes the password or ends the link.

Also in 1.0.14.
---------------
- Settings is rebuilt into five short pages, with house rules, activity and permissions together under Assistants.
- Premiere panel 0.10.18 and Resolve script 1.1.6 add timeline reading. Both were tested in Adobe Premiere 2026 and DaVinci Resolve Studio 18.6.

Availability and price.
-----------------------
Sift Clips 1.0.14 is a free update for Mac (Apple Silicon, macOS 15 or newer) and Windows 10 and 11.
Connecting an assistant works during the free trial (3 days or 25 searches, no card) and with a license, $99 a year for one

About Sift Clips.
-----------------
Sift Clips is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that finds any moment in an editor’s footage.

Editors describe a shot, a line or a person, and Sift takes them to the exact frame. Nothing needs tagging. It searches everything at
once: every drive, even archive drives that aren’t plugged in, plus Frame.io projects and synced cloud folders.

Search runs on the editor’s own computer, so footage is never uploaded. Sift works on its own or inside Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve
and Final Cut Pro. AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT can use it to find, check and line up footage, while the editor makes the cut.

Sift Clips costs $99 a year after a free trial. It is made by Boatner Studios. Press: creative@siftclips.com.
