About
Made by an editor, for everyone with too much footage.
Sift started with a simple problem: you know the shot exists, and you can’t find it.
In short: Sift Clips is a desktop app for Mac and Windows made by Boatner Studios. It finds video moments and photos by what’s in them, on the user’s own computer. It works alone or inside Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro.
Why it exists.
Footage and photos pile up across drives, and file names don’t describe what’s in them. Finding one moment can take longer than using it. Sift makes that work searchable, without tagging and without moving your files.
What we believe.
- Your files are yours. Search runs on your computer. Nothing is uploaded to be searched.
- You stay in charge. Sift finds and prepares. You make the cut and the choices.
- Honest over impressive. We say what Sift can’t do, and our comparisons cite their sources.
- One clear price. $99 a year, with a free trial and no card.
