Lightroom Classic
Find it in Sift. Edit it in Lightroom.
Search every photo you’ve added to Sift from inside Lightroom Classic, or send your picks from Sift. Photos that were never in your catalog come in without digging through folders.
In short: The Sift Clips plugin for Lightroom Classic (Sift 1.0.16 and later) adds Search with Sift Clips to Lightroom’s Library menu. Search in plain words, tick the photos you want, and they’re added to your catalog in a Sift results collection. From the Sift app, Send to Lightroom opens Lightroom’s Import window with your photos already chosen. Sift finds the photos; you still edit in Lightroom.
No editor needed. Sift works on its own as a desktop app on Mac and Windows: search, preview, build Selects and share footage by link without opening an editor. The editor panels are optional.
What it does.
- Search from Lightroom. Library › Plug-in Extras › Search with Sift Clips. Describe the photo or name a person you’ve named in Sift.
- Add what you pick. Tick photos and they arrive in a collection called Sift results. Photos already in the catalog aren’t added twice.
- Send from Sift. Send to Lightroom in the viewer and in Selects opens Lightroom’s Import window with those photos chosen, so you decide how they come in.
- Files stay put. Sift doesn’t edit or move your photos, and it doesn’t change your catalog until you add something.
Honest limits.
It works with Lightroom Classic, not the newer Lightroom desktop app. Sift has to be open for the plugin to search. Each search shows photos only, up to 500. We’ve checked the plugin and Send to Lightroom in real Lightroom Classic 15 on a Mac; Windows hasn’t been tried in real Lightroom yet. Sift doesn’t cull or edit: that’s still Lightroom’s job.
