Photos
Find any photo. Clear the rest.
Tens of thousands of photos, searchable in plain words and by the people in them. Find the copies you don’t need, gather your picks, and send them as a link.
In short: Sift Clips is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that searches photo and video libraries on your own computer. It finds photos by what’s in them and who’s in them, finds duplicates, gathers selected photos into a folder, and shares them by link for people to view and download.
No editor needed. Sift works on its own as a desktop app on Mac and Windows: search, preview, build Selects and share footage by link without opening an editor. The editor panels are optional.
Find people and moments.
- Search in plain words, like “baptism in the sanctuary” or “kids laughing”.
- Name someone once, then find them across your library.
- Check a person’s matches in a minute: see photos that might be them, and correct any that aren’t.
- Reads RAW from Canon, Nikon and other cameras, plus JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF and WebP, on your own drives.
Clear the duplicates.
- Find the same photo saved in more than one place, and see how much room the extras use.
- Sift marks the best copy to keep and ticks the extras on your computer.
- Look-alike shots, like bursts, are shown separately and never ticked for you.
- Files go to the Trash, so you can change your mind, and one of each photo always stays.
Gather and send.
- Save picks to Selects, then gather the original files into a folder, or bring them into Lightroom Classic.
- Share them as a link. People view them in any browser and download a high-quality copy of one or all, with no app or account. Every Sift includes one free link for up to 100 photos.
Private by default.
Sift searches on your computer, so your photos aren’t uploaded to be searched. Photos go online only when you share them by link.

Questions
Is Sift only for video?
No. Sift searches photos and video in one library, so you can find both from the same search.
Will Sift delete my photos?
Only if you choose to, and only by moving them to the Trash or Recycle Bin, where you can put them back. One of each photo always stays.
How much does it cost?
The same as Sift for video. Free for 3 days or 25 searches. No card.
